The project consists of the programmatic expansion of the recreational areas of "Casa el Rincón", a single-family home that is inserted in a meadow, in a productive rural landscape, near the town of Punta de Valdez in the department of San José.
In harmony with the environment, the incorporation of a swimming pool and a greenhouse is proposed that not only expand the possibilities of enjoying the space, but also enrich the sensory experience of life in the countryside.

The pool, conceived as a concrete rock, is a reflective surface that integrates naturally into the rural landscape. Its design evokes the beauty of rock formations and offers an oasis of freshness and relaxation in the middle of the meadow. The visual connection between the pool and the environment is enhanced through a game of reflections, and the location on the axis of the pre-existing ombúes on the property creates a captivating visual effect that invites you to immerse yourself in the serenity of the rural landscape.

The greenhouse, materially a scaly and transparent volume with a concrete base, stands as a sanctuary for vegetation, a space where sunlight and environmental protection allow the cultivation of exuberant and aromatic plants. Its functional design and careful integration with the topography of the land highlight the beauty of the natural environment, while its transparency invites you to contemplate the life that flourishes within.

The expansion of "Casa el Rincón" seeks to create a harmonious dialogue between architecture and nature, intensifying the presence in the landscape through the play of transparencies, opacities and reflections. Inspired by the majesty of the Ombúes in the immediate surroundings, the fireplace space existing between both interventions and the serenity of the Uruguayan countryside, this project invites us to reflect on the expressive possibilities of rural architecture in our country, creating equipment that interacts with the time and climate, offering a space of escape and connection with the natural beauty that surrounds us.
